Software that respects your time.

Most software asks for your patience. Ours is built the other way round: we spend the months, so you spend the seconds. Every product starts with a real problem and ends when it feels like part of your computer.

A hand-assembled mechanical watch movement, seen from the back, its gears and jewels visible.
What we believe

Four rules we keep.

  1. We measure before we decide.

Every choice comes with a number: seconds, megabytes, frames. Taste decides the rest.

  2. It should feel like part of your computer.

Native controls, native fonts where they belong, and no surprises on the screen.

  3. Every click has to earn its place.

If a step can disappear, it does. Most of the work is taking things out.

  4. We fix causes, so problems stay fixed.

A fix is done when we know why it broke and a test makes sure it never breaks that way again.

How we build

Most of the work happens before you see it.

  1. 01

    Research

We start with the problem people already have, and how they solve it today. Most of a product is decided here.

  2. 02

    Sketches

Many rough versions, on paper and in code. Most are thrown away, which is the point.

  3. 03

    Measurements

Every idea gets a number before it gets a decision: seconds to start, megabytes fetched, frames dropped.

  4. 04

    Rewrites

When the first working version teaches us something, we rebuild it instead of patching around it.

  5. 05

    Testing

Every bug becomes a test, and the full set runs before every release, on real machines.

  6. 06

    Polish

The last mile: spacing, timing, wording, the one click we can still remove. It takes as long as the rest.
